McLardy McShane’s 2024 Conference another gold medal-worthy performance

McLardy McShane hosted its annual three-day Group Conference in Adelaide last week, with the Olympic-themed event highlighted by the presence of two of Australia’s greatest ever Olympians in Cathy Freeman and Raelene Boyle.

With over 360 members of the McLardy McShane network watching on, Olympic Gold Medallist Cathy Freeman and three-time Olympic Silver Medallist Raelene Boyle kicked off proceedings on Wednesday night by lighting a three-metre wide, purpose-built Olympic Cauldron, just as the pair did together in Sydney 24 years ago.

The dynamic duo then returned the following day to form part of an impressive suite of guest speakers, which also included Steadfast’s Executive General Manager – Australasian Networks Nick Cook, Thomas Foods International Group Managing Director Darren Thomas, futurist Mark Pesce and motivational speaker Trav Bell.

Once again, the Conference enjoyed incredible support from an array of 59 industry sponsors, headlined by the seven Gold Medal sponsors CGU, Chubb, Elantis Premium Funding, Hollard, QBE, Victory Premium Funding and Zurich.

The Conference’s marketplace was abuzz across the Wednesday and Thursday session times with all sponsors’ stalls mapped out across the hall of the Adelaide Convention Centre.

An integral part of each McLardy McShane Conference is the fundraising effort on the final night, known as the Closing Ceremony this year, and this year saw a record $340,250 raised for McLardy McShane’s community partners, which includes FightMND, Reach, CureEB, Love Your Sister and most recent partner House of Darwin Foundation.

As the Olympic Cauldron’s flame was extinguished to signal the end of the Conference, McLardy McShane announced that the Group’s 2025 Conference will be held in Sydney.
