Long returns from Insurtech Insights Conference in New York

McLardy McShane Group Chief Operating Officer Meg Long has recently returned from a trip to the US, in which she attended the 2024 Insurtech Insights Conference in New York on June 4-5.   

The two-day Conference sees the likes of tech entrepreneurs, investors and insurance industry leaders come together to discuss the current state of the industry and the key issues the market is being confronted with.  

A collection of the world’s most renowned speakers, including Northwestern Mutual’s EVP & Chief Strategy Officer Aditi Javeri Gokhale and Prudential’s President of Group Insurance Mike Estep, shared their industry insights and learnings.  

Long said the Conference provided a great networking opportunity for her and McLardy McShane more broadly.  

“It was a wonderful experience to get along to the Insurtech conference which is America’s leading conference in the industry,” Long said.  

“I certainly took a lot from the experience but, I will say, it did give me a level of comfort in terms of how we are tracking as a business. We are very much operating at a level comparable to some of these large US broking companies.  

“One of the most important takeaways for me is how we manage and continue to support the ongoing introduction of AI into our business, managing any potential exposures and ensuring our regime around that is monitored pretty carefully.”
