McLardy McShane opens first Queensland-based joint venture partnership

McLardy McShane has continued to expand its national footprint, with the opening of its first Queensland-based joint venture partnership.

Following the Company’s acquisition of Dixon Insurance Services which was formalised in December 2024, this newly purchased portfolio will form the foundation of the McLardy McShane Brisbane operation.

Dixon Insurance Services had previously been a corporate authorised representative of McLardy McShane’s since February 2022, with the business
holding a strong presence across Queensland particularly.

The business will continue to trade as Dixon Insurance Services and Ken Dixon will continue to work within the business moving forwards.

Joining the Company in September, Taylor Burstow will work with Ken on the management of the McLardy McShane Brisbane operation.

Burstow boasts over 16 years’ experience in the broking industry and was the 2023 National NIBA Young Broker of the Year.

Chief of Growth Nick McLardy said the Company was excited to announce this latest partnership, which comes just weeks away from the opening of another new joint venture business - McLardy McShane Yarra Valley.

“Whilst our AR network has continued to grow throughout Queensland in recent years, this expansion for our joint venture network into Queensland is a really exciting step for the Company,” McLardy said.

“We’d like to acknowledge Ken Dixon and the incredible business he has built up over the past two decades – we feel very fortunate to acquire a
portfolio with such a strong reputation in the region and that is a reflection of Ken.

“With Ken continuing to work in the business and Taylor being an outstanding young leader, we are confident on this new journey for McLardy McShane. Both have deep knowledge of the Queensland market, so we feel we’re in very good hands.”
