The McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch

The McLardy McShane Reach Christmas Lunch was designed for our clients, industry colleagues and friends to take their staff to an alternative to the normal company Christmas function. The idea was that the money spent went to a worthwhile cause, whilst at the same time enjoying an entertaining, yet enlightening, Christmas lunch that showcases the great work being done by Reach.

2009’s inaugural lunch was attended by over 300 associates and friends of McLardy McShane. Due to the generous support of attendees who were moved by hearing stories from Jim Stynes and Trisha Silvers (formerly Broadbridge), $70,000 was raised on the day. These funds enabled McLardy McShane to buy Reach two mini buses which are being used to further their work as well as allowing McLardy McShane to continue to introduce Reach’s work to their clients and associates by taking them to experience Reach workshops throughout the state.

The 2nd Christmas Lunch took place at Peninsula at Atlantic Docklands, Melbourne, where over $125,000 was raised.

The event is fast becoming a key event on the insurance industry calendar with over 630 insurance industry associates, clients and friends of McLardy McShane attending the highly anticipated event, more than double the number from the year before

Guests were entertained by MC Billy Brownless and enlightened by Jim Stynes' and advertising guru Russel Howcroft’s stories as well as experiencing the magic work of Reach first hand through a mini workshop delivered by talented Reach crew member, Zac.

A massive $155 000 was raised at the 3rd Annual event on the 8th December, 2011.

The lunch again lived up to its reputation as being the best event on the Insurance Industry calendar with over 600 guests enjoying an incredible day of entertainment from Anh Do and Hamish & Andy, and captivated and inspired by stories of overcoming adversity from Reach founder Jim Stynes, Trisha Silvers along with Hamish Blake, Miss Universe Australia Jesinta Campbell and Reach participant Dannie.

Guests learnt about Reach’s innovative and inspiring programs and were clearly moved enough to put their hands in their pockets and dig deep to support this inspiring and worthwhile Youth Foundation.
